MARRIAGE SOLEMNIZATION
MARRIAGE BETWEEN FILIPINO CITIZENS
The Embassy solemnizes marriages between Filipino citizens only. The legal marrying
age for Filipino citizens is eighteen (18) years. However, a person to be married
who is at least 18 years old but below 21 years old has to secure the CONSENT of
his/her parents. For those between 21 and 25 years of age, PARENTAL ADVICE must
be secured.
Requirements
• Duly accomplished Application for Marriage License and Affidavit of Legal Capacity
to Contract Marriage
• Birth Certificate in security paper issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO)
authenticated by Authentication Division, DFA Manila (Original & one photocopy)
• Certificate of Non-Availability of Record of Marriage (CENOMAR) issued by the
National Statistics Office (NSO) (Purpose: For Marriage) authenticated by Authentication
Division, DFA Manila (Original & one photocopy)
NOTE: A CENOMAR is valid for only six (6) months from the date of issue by the NSO.
All data (i.e. name of applicant, date and place of birth, name of parents) in the
CENOMAR should be the same as in applicant’s birth certificate.
• Proof of Residence in Portugal (e.g. Residence Card)
