MARRIAGE BETWEEN FILIPINO AND PORTUGUESE / OTHER FOREIGN NATIONAL
A Filipino citizen planning to get married to a Portuguese or other foreign national in Portugal has to secure a LEGAL CAPACITY TO CONTRACT MARRIAGE from the Embassy.
As a basic requirement, both the Filipino applicant and the Portuguese/foreign fiancé/fiancée have to appear personally at the Embassy.
Requirements:
• Duly accomplished Application Form
• Valid Passport (Original & 1 Photocopy of Data Page & Last Page)
• Birth Certificate in security paper issued by the NSO authenticated by Authentication Division, Department of Foreign Affairs (Original & 1 Photocopy)
• Certificate of Non-Availability of Record of Marriage [CENOMAR] (Purpose: For Marriage) in security paper issued by the NSO authenticated by Authentication Division, DFA-Manila (Original & 1 Photocopy) NOTE: The validity of CENOMAR is six (6) months from the date of issue of the NSO. All data (i.e. name of applicant, date and place of birth, name of parents) in the CENOMAR should be the same as in applicant’s birth certificate.
Proof of Residence in Portugal of the Filipino (e.g. Residence card)
• FOR FILIPINO CITIZENS WHO ARE NOT RESIDENTS OF PORTUGAL:
- Marriage License issued by the Municipality/City where the Filipino citizen is a resident, authenticated by Authentication Division, DFA Manila (Original & one photocopy), or
